ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Lincoln women's soccer team continued its inaugural season with a road match against Missouri-St. Louis, with the Tritons winning, 6-1, at Creve Coeur Soccer Park on Friday night (Sept. 27).
Missouri-St. Louis (4-2-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) scored the first goal of the contest in the fifth minute, but the two teams kept each other off the scoreboard through the remainder of the first half. UMSL scored on a penalty kick early in the second half, however, and add two more goals within the next eight minutes to take control of the contest.
Lincoln (5-3, 1-3 GLVC) scored its goal in the 88th minute as
Grace Larson's unassisted shot found its way past the keeper.
Leila Byru and
Ivanna Faria also had shots on goal while
Angela Reynolds and
Jia Diaz also attempted shots.
Kanon Dehama made 10 saves while playing all 90 minutes in the net.
The Blue Tigers are off until next Friday (Oct. 4) when Lincoln hosts McKendree at Jefferson City High School Soccer Field at 5:00 p.m. CDT.
