ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team and Missouri-St. Louis each scored in the final 15 minutes of the match as the Blue Tigers and the Tritons tied, 1-1, on Friday (Sept. 27).
Shandee Brooks scored his fourth goal of the season off a pass by
Jonas Mueller in the 74th minute to give Lincoln (3-1-2, 2-1-1 GLVC) the lead. Missouri-St. Louis (3-2-2, 1-1-2 GLVC) answered in the 82nd minute, however, and the match ended in a draw.
Vincent Osei made four saves and
Kanye Francis and
Kevon Maitland each attempted three shots, with both having one shot on goal. Brooks had two shots and
Bailey Rhodes was next with one. For the contest, Lincoln outshot UMSL, 9-7, though the Tritons had the advantage on shots on goal, 5-3.
Lincoln returns to Jefferson City to host McKendree at the Jefferson City High School Soccer Field on Friday (Oct. 4) at 7:30 p.m. CDT.
