KANSAS CITY, Mo. - After finishing the regular season as one of NCAA Division II's best free throw shooters, Lincoln men's basketball senior DJ Richardson has been selected to the All-MIAA third team. The league office announced the honors, which were voted upon by the conference's men's basketball coaches, on Tuesday (March 5).

Richardson, who posted an .887 free throw percentage that was the 19th best in the country, led the Blue Tigers to 14 wins overall and nine league victories. Richardson led LU in both scoring (15.0 ppg.) and assists (3.4 apg.). averaged 3.5 rebounds and had 25 steals on the season. Richardson's scoring average was the seventh-best in the MIAA this season.

A .459 shooter overall this season, Richardson opened the year with back-to-back 20-point performances and had eight such games overall. Richardson finished in double figures 20 times in 2023-24 and had 10 games in which he dished at least four assists.

The Lincoln men's basketball team is in Kansas City for the 2024 MIAA Championship tournament this week. The Blue Tigers open the postseason on Wednesday night (March 6) by playing Emporia State at 8:15 p.m. CST.
