FULTON, Mo. - The Lincoln women's golf team shot a 318 to finish as the runner-up at the WWU Spring Invitational, hosted by William Woods University at Tanglewood Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26). LU placed second out of nine teams at the event, which was shortened to one round due to inclement weather.
Elliott Hull, who played as an individual, has the lowest score of the day by an LU golfer with a 78, tying her for fourth on the individual leaderboard. Three other Blue Tigers finished one stroke with a 79 each:
Divya Gunasegar,
Kaathi Gunasegar and
Marsya Nazri. All three tied for ninth place.
Maria Villamil shot an 81 and tied for 13th on the individual leaderboard.
Nyah Singh, meanwhile, carded an 82 and finished in a tie for 16th.
This marks the third time in 2023-24 that the Blue Tigers have taken second at a tournament, as Lincoln also finished as the runner-up at the WWU Fall Invitational (Sept. 18-19) and at the Cougar Classic (Oct. 2-3). This was also the third-straight top-10 finish, as well as the fifth overall, for Lincoln this season.
The Blue Tigers head to Katy, Texas next Tuesday and Wednesday (April 2-3) for the National Women's Collegiate Championship, which will be played at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch.
