PITTSBURG, Kan. - Steph Torres led the Lincoln women's basketball team with 22 points, but Pittsburg State took advantage of a hot start to pull out an 88-70 win on Saturday (Feb. 10).

AJ Bradley added 13 points, five rebounds, two assists and a steal to the Blue Tiger cause while Ashlyn Alloway provided 10 points, six boards, three blocks, two assists and a steal. Hanne Nybo also pulled down six rebounds while chipping in five points as LU shot .429 from three-point range and .381 overall.

Pittsburg State (18-5, 12-5 MIAA) out-scored Lincoln (6-16, 2-14 MIAA) by 21 in the opening quarter and managed to eclipse the 20-point mark in each of the three remaining periods while shooting .576 from the field and .400 from behind the arc. As has been the case for most of the year, the Blue Tigers enjoyed a stellar second half, scoring 45 total points, including 25 in the third quarter.

Kiara Cabrera nearly became the fourth Blue Tiger to score in double figures, finishing with nine points, three rebounds and a team-high five steals. Lincoln committed only 10 turnovers on Saturday and forced the Gorillas into giving the ball away on 19 occasions. Alyssa McCarty and Miriam Bazylewicz each posted four points and two rebounds, with McCarty also finishing with a steal. Imani Jones, meanwhile, closed the scoring with three points and a pair of rebounds.

Lincoln returns home to host Fort Hays State on Thursday (Feb. 15) in a 5:30 p.m. CST contest.
