JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team tried to rally in the final minutes, but the Blue Tigers ultimately fell to Rockhurst, 2-1, on Friday night (Nov. 1).

Rockhurst (5-8-2, 5-6-2 GLVC) scored both of its goals in the first half and maintained a shutout until the 86th minute of the contest, when quick passes from Jonas Mueller and Ackeem Mullings led to Tavis Grant shooting the ball over a diving goalie to cut the LU deficit in half. Lincoln (5-6-4, 4-6-3 GLVC), which finished with 13 total shots and eight shots on goal, had several quality looks at the net in the final three minutes but the Hawks managed to escape with the win.

Kevon Maitland had five total shots and three shots on goal, Grant had two shots on the net and Theon Cupee, Albert Kemeh and Hadri Lopez had Lincoln's other shots on goal. Ateibo Green and Mueller also had shot attempts while Antwone Gooden made five saves.

Lincoln will close the regular season on Sunday (Nov. 3) by hosting William Jewell at 2:30 p.m. CST.
