Blue Tigers Fall on Sunday to #20 Maryville



JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Maryville, ranked No. 20 in the country in the United Soccer Coaches' Division II poll, scored two goals in each half to defeat the Lincoln women's soccer team, 4-0, on Sunday (Oct. 6).

Michelle Granja made nine saves while playing the complete game in goal for Lincoln (5-5, 1-5 GLVC) while Leah Serritos, Leila Byru and Ivanna Faria each had a shot on goal. Faria led the Blue Tigers with two shots overall.

Maryville (8-1-1, 7-1 GLVC) scored in the fifth minute of the contest and again in the 17th, though Lincoln kept the Saints off the board for the remainder of the half. Maryville's third goal came just under three minutes into the second half and the fourth was scored approximately 15 minutes later.

Lincoln heads to Indianapolis, Ind. on Friday (Oct. 11) to play Indianapolis at 4:00 p.m. CDT.
