INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Lincoln women's soccer team nearly shut out Indianapolis in the first half, but the Greyhounds pulled away in the second half for a 5-0 victory over the Blue Tigers on Friday evening (Oct. 11).
Grace Larson led Lincoln (5-6, 1-6 GLVC) with three shots, all of which were on goal, and
Kanon Dehama made 10 saves while playing the complete game in the goal. All six of Lincoln's shot attempts were on the goal, with
Ivanna Faria,
Angela Reynolds and
Leila Byru each notching a shot on the net.
Indianapolis (6-4-1, 5-2-1 GLVC) was held off the scoreboard until the 42nd minute of the contest and took a slim 1-0 advantage into the break. In the second half, the Greyhounds scored in the 49th minutes, and later added three more goals during the final 11 minutes of the match.
Lincoln will travel to Springfield, Ill. on Sunday (Oct. 13) to play Illinois-Springfield in a 12:00 p.m. CDT contest.
