QUINCY, Ill. - The Lincoln men's soccer team took a 2-0 lead into halftime, but Quincy stormed back to force a 3-3 tie on Saturday (Oct. 27).
Shandee Brooks scored the first two goals of the match, the first at the 23:00 mark off a pass by
Hadri Lopez and the second in the 35th minute.
Bailey Rhodes had the assist on the second goal, and the score stood at 2-0 in favor of Lincoln (5-5-4, 4-5-3 GLVC) entering the break. The Hawks got their first goal in the 50th minute and eventually tied the game in the 77th minute.
The Blue Tigers broke the tie with just 1:45 remaining in the contest after
Kevon Maitland scored unassisted. In the final minute of the contest, however, Quincy (5-7-3, 4-5-3 GLVC) found the back of the net to end the match in a draw.
Christopher Hull had four total shots, including two on the goal, and Brooks finished with four shots overall while
Guilherme Goncalves Capaldi had two shot attempts.
Albert Kemeh ended the day with three shots, one of which was on the net, and
Tavis Grant also had a shot on goal.
Antwone Gooden made four saves.
Lincoln returns home on Friday (Nov. 1) to host Rockhurst at Jefferson City High School Soccer Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT.
