JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A late rally attempt by the Lincoln women's soccer team fell just short as Upper Iowa prevailed in a 2-1 decision on Friday evening (Oct. 18).

Upper Iowa (4-4-3, 4-3-2 GLVC) scored a pair of first half goals, but Lincoln (5-8, 1-8 GLVC) answered with seven shots in the second half, one of which found the back of the net. In the 84th minutes, Grace Larson scored on a break away to cut the deficit in half. The Blue Tigers had 11 shots overall while the Peacocks finished with 16, and UIU held a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal.

Kanon Dehama made eight saves while playing all 90 minutes in the net. Larson had three shots on goal and five overall, both team-highs, while Carolina Dos Santos had two shot attempts and Leila Byru recorded one. Jia Diaz, Jaelyn Drake and Angela Reynolds each notched a shot on goal.

Lincoln remains at home to host Lewis at Jefferson City High School Soccer Field on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
