JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - A late rally attempt by the Lincoln women's soccer team fell just short as Upper Iowa prevailed in a 2-1 decision on Friday evening (Oct. 18).
Upper Iowa (4-4-3, 4-3-2 GLVC) scored a pair of first half goals, but Lincoln (5-8, 1-8 GLVC) answered with seven shots in the second half, one of which found the back of the net. In the 84th minutes,
Grace Larson scored on a break away to cut the deficit in half. The Blue Tigers had 11 shots overall while the Peacocks finished with 16, and UIU held a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal.
Kanon Dehama made eight saves while playing all 90 minutes in the net. Larson had three shots on goal and five overall, both team-highs, while
Carolina Dos Santos had two shot attempts and
Leila Byru recorded one.

Lincoln remains at home to host Lewis at Jefferson City High School Soccer Field on Sunday (Oct. 20) at 12:00 p.m. CDT.
