JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln men's soccer team got on the board early, but a late goal by Upper Iowa led to the match finishing in a 1-1 draw on Friday night (Oct. 18).
Hadri Lopez scored off a pass by
Albert Kemeh in the fifth minute of the contest and the Blue Tigers posted a 25-3 advantage on total shots, including 12 shots on goal compared to two for the Peacocks. Two quick passes in the 69th minute of the match led to a UIU goal, however, and neither team scored afterwards as LU posted its third tie of the season and second in GLVC play.
Antwone Gooden had a save while
Guilherme Goncalves Capaldi led Lincoln with four shots, including two on goal. Lopez finished with a team-high three shots on goal and
Kevon Maitland,
Tavis Grant and
Ateibo Green each ended the night with three shots. Kemeh,
Brady Charles,
Adam Griffiths and
Finn Johannesmann each had two shots while
Shandee Brooks ended the match with one.
Lincoln is now 4-4-3 overall and 3-4-2 in GLVC play. Upper Iowa, meanwhile, is 1-7-4 on the season and 1-5-3 in the conference.
The Blue Tigers are back at Jefferson City High School Soccer Field on Sunday (Oct. 20) to host Lewis in a 2:30 p.m. CDT match.
