Ashlyn Alloway led the Lincoln women's basketball with a double-double, but Northwest Missouri prevailed, 62-52, on Saturday (Jan. 27).
Alloway scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to go with a block, a pair of steals and two assists.
Steph Torres finished second on the scoring chart for LU, adding 13 points, a rebound, a block, a steal and an assist.
Imani Jones, meanwhile, finished with eight points, five boards, two assists, a steal and a pair of blocks.
Northwest Missouri (15-4, 9-4 MIAA) led for the entire game, shooting .420 from the floor but just .286 from three-point range. The Bearcats led by as many as 17 points in the third quarter, but Lincoln (6-13, 2-11 MIAA) ended up out-scoring NWMSU in that period, 25-14. Lincoln pulled within four with three minutes to play in the final quarter, but Northwest Missouri shot .500 in that stanza to ensure its win.
NWMSU ended the day with a slim 36-32 advantage in rebounding, but LU forced 16 turnovers and made nine treys on the afternoon while shooting .365 overall.
Hanne Nybo made both three-point shots she attempted to finish the game with six points, five boards, two steals, a block and an assist.
AJ Bradley also had six points as well as an assist while
Kiara Cabrera closed the scoring with two points and a pair of rebounds.
Alyssa McCarty pulled down three rebounds and tallied a steal and
Tatiana Beaumont provided two rebounds.
Lincoln heads to Warrensburg, Mo. next Saturday (Feb. 3) to play Central Missouri at 1:00 p.m. CST.
