JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Eleven members of the Lincoln softball team were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. Two Blue Tigers earned the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence Award, and one received the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award.
To qualify for the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, a student-athlete must have completed at least two full semesters at a league institution and have a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. Earning this award for the Blue Tigers were sophomore
Jordan Galliher (Hutchinson, Kan.) and senior
Maddie Welker (House Springs, Mo.).
Junior
Leslie Callahan (Kansas City, Mo.) received the MIAA Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to student-athletes who have finished at least two full semesters at a member institution, possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better, and have earned some form of all-conference honors. Callahan was named to the All-MIAA second team as a utility player.
Callahan, Galliher and Welker also were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, as were eight additional Blue Tigers. To qualify for the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher through two full semesters at a member institution.
The other Blue Tigers named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll were: seniors
Qwynn Marquez (Independence, Kan.),
Ashton Stalling (Lafayete, Ga.) and
Emily Williams (Quitman, Ark.); juniors
Jacqueline Marquez (Portage, Ind.) and
Leah Wagner (Odessa, Mo.); and sophomores
Katie Blair (Tucson, Ariz.),
Kori Bullard (Omaha, Neb.) and
Emma Rakes (Camdenton, Mo.).
Freshmen and newcomers who qualified for these awards will be announced in June.
