Softball Set to Host Games on Saturday, Sunday & Tuesday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln softball team will host six games in four days, all MIAA contests and all at Vogel Field at the Ellis-Porter Park Complex in Jefferson City.

Due to predicted thunderstorms in the area on Friday (March 31), Lincoln will open the weekend on Saturday (April 1) by hosting Rogers State in a 1:00 p.m. CDT double-header. On Sunday (April 2), the Blue Tigers play Northeastern State in a 12:00 p.m. CDT twinbill. Lincoln will then play Central Missouri on Tuesday (April 4) in a double-header scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. CDT.

With the changes in the schedule over the weekend, LU's home twinbill against McKendree, scheduled for Wednesday (April 5), has been canceled.

Three different pitchers have won games for the Blue Tigers in 2023, including Jordan Galliher, who has two victories after picking up a win over MIAA rival Missouri Southern in LU's last home games, back on March 14). Galliher has struck out 29 batters in 49.1 innings of work. Ashton Stalling, who has fanned 13 batters, and Joss Marriott, who has struck out 11, also have victories in the circle while Maddie Welker has seven strikeouts in 16.2 innings.

Leslie Callahan has seven multiple-hit games this season and leads Lincoln with a .344 batting average. Callahan, who has scored 10 runs on 22 hits, is one of three Blue Tigers with two homeruns on the season, joining Maris Ollison and Jacqueline Marquez. Ollison, a .293 batter, leads Lincoln with nine RBI and is tied with Qwynn Marquez with 17 hits. Jacqueline Marquez has seven RBI on 12 hits.

Leah Wagner, second on the team with a .314 average, has hit a team-high four doubles and has seven RBI and seven runs on 16 hits. Emma Rakes, who is hitting .273, has scored six runs on 12 hits, and Emily Williams has tallied seven hits while Stalling is next with five. Madison Garcia is batting .250 with seven hits and five runs, and Myah Dwyer has scored four runs on four hits. Kennedy Schanuth, meanwhile, has scored three runs.
