INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced that Lincoln outfielder
Ann-Marie Simpson and second baseman
Gracie Wright have been named to the All-GLVC Softball third team. The league also announced that
Mallorey Rogers was Lincoln's recipient of the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award.
Simpson and Wright led the Lincoln softball team to its best season in program history, as the Blue Tigers shattered the record for victories in a season with 23 in 2026. Simpson stole 29 bases to break the LU single-season record and set a new Blue Tiger record for runs scored in a season with 36. Simpson and Wright also helped the Blue Tigers finish third in the GLVC in stolen bases per game (1.72) and fourth in total stolen bases (81).
In addition to breaking the stolen base record, Simpson led Lincoln with 58 hits, a .384 batting average and a .429 on-base percentage. Her 29 steals were the fifth-most by a GLVC player in 2026, and she also finished third in the league in stolen base percentage (.879). Over the course of the season, Simpson hit five doubles and three triples, and she also drove in 20 runs. As a fielder, she recorded 70 putouts and one assist.
Wright went 13-for-14 on stolen bases and finished second on the team with a .372 batting average. Wright hit 13 doubles and a pair of home runs while posting an on-base percentage of .415. Wright led LU with 29 RBI and scored 26 runs on 54 hits. As an infielder, she had 103 putouts and 85 assists.
