Final Results
CABOT, Ark. - The Lincoln women's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2022-23 schedule with a ninth-place finish at the Natural State Classic, hosted by Harding University at Cypress Creek Golf Club on Monday and Tuesday (Feb. 27-28).
Kaathi Gunasegar led Lincoln in her first tournament as a Blue Tiger, as she shot an 83 in the opening round and an 80 in the second for a total of 163. Gunasegar ended the tourney tied for 26th overall.
Maria Villamil, meanwhile, carded scores of 88 and 80 to end the tournament tied for 34th with a sum of 168.
Nyah Singh also improved between rounds, following a first day 90 with a 79 on Tuesday. Singh tied for 38th overall with a 169.
Marsya Nazri had the biggest improvement, as she shaved 17 strokes off her first round score of 94 to shoot a team-low 77 in the second.
Saikati Gikonyo rounded out LU with a 172, posting scores of 84 and 88.
Elliott Hull also played in the Natural State Classic as an individual. She shot a 99 in the first round and a 94 in the second for a total of 193.
Lincoln will next play in the Buccaneer Invitational in Memphis, Tenn. on March 6-7. The two-day tournament, played at Irene Golf Course, is being hosted by Christian Brothers University.
