JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Due to forecasts calling for rain in Bolivar, Mo. on Wednesday (Feb. 22), the Lincoln softball team announced that its road games at Southwest Baptist have been moved to Tuesday (Feb. 21). Lincoln will play a double-header against the Bearcats, with first pitch scheduled for 3:00 p.m. CST.
Lincoln picked up its first win of the season on Saturday (Feb. 18), racking up 12 hits in a road win over William Jewell.
Leslie Callahan and
Kennedy Schanuth each had two RBI, and
Maris Ollison led LU with three hits.
Jordan Galliher earned the win with a complete game, four strikeout performance in the circle.
Leah Wagner has LU offensively during its first six games, batting .417 with five hits, four runs and three RBI.
Emma Rakes also has five hits and is batting .313, and Ollison and
Emily Williams each have four hits.
Jacqueline Marquez has five hits and two RBI, and
Myah Dwyer has tallied three hits and two runs while
Qwynn Marquez has two RBI on two hits.
Madison Garcia, meanwhile, is batting .400 with two runs and a pair of hits.
Southwest Baptist enters the week 1-7 overall, with the lone win being a 10-0 victory over Arkansas-Monticello. Margo Frossard leads the Bearcats with 12 hits, five runs, four RBI, three doubles and a .462 batting average. Chloee Sams has a .300 average and also has batted in four runs, and Alyssa Reed, who is hitting .286, is the other SBU starter batting better than .250. Rylee Lunn has six hits while Kaitlyn Ragsdale is next with five. In the circle, Jenna Daggett, who has Southwest Baptist's win, has struck out 16 batters on the season.
