JOPLIN, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team closed out a three-game road trip on Monday night (Jan. 23) as the Blue Tigers dropped an 84-45 decision to Missouri Southern.

Le'Yanna McGinnis and Mercy Gonzalez each scored nine points, with McGinnis also leading LU with seven rebounds. Ashlyn Alloway was next on the scoring chart, finishing with seven points and three boards. All three players blocked a shot, and Alloway dished two assists while McGinnis notched a steal.

Missouri Southern (17-4, 9-4 MIAA) shot .519 from the floor and made 10 three-pointers while going 18-for-21 at the free throw line. Lincoln (5-14, 3-10 MIAA) forced the Lions into 13 turnovers and shot .800 at the line, but MSSU held LU to .288 shooting overall.

AJ Bradley came off the bench to provide six points, three rebounds and an assist while Aliyah Bello added five points and two rebounds. Niyah Jackson, who led finished with two assists, also chipped in five points, and Miriam Bazylewicz closed the scoring with four points, three boards, a pair of assists and a steal. Kelsey Mitchell also had a steal, and Saniya Simmons ended the night with two takeaways, an assist and a rebound.

Lincoln will begin a three-game homestand on Saturday (Jan. 28) by hosting Central Missouri at 1:00 p.m. CST.
