JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - WeCOACH, a non-profit organization that supports and promotes female coaches at every level of competition, has named Lincoln Director of Golf Meshia Levister as its Coach of the Month for September 2022.

Levister made history in July by becoming the first-ever African American woman to be the head coach of an MIAA men's golf program. Levister, who oversees both the Lincoln men's and women's golf teams as the university's first-ever Director of Golf, is currently the only African American golf coach in the conference.

A former LPGA Tour golfer, Levister has spent the past 17 years mentoring and developing golfers. In 2021-22, she was selected as the Tara VanDerveer Fellow by the Women's Sports Foundation. Levister is also a highly-engaged member of WeCOACH, having graduated from both the organization's Women's Coaches Academy and its Academy 2.0 programs.
