Kevin Kone Signs With LU Men's Basketball

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Head coach Jimmy Drew announced on Wednesday (May 25) that Kevin Kone, who averaged 10.5 points and 7.2 rebounds at Georgia Southwestern State last year, has signed a letter of intent to continue his career with the Lincoln men's basketball team.

Kone, who is originally from Paris, France, played in 26 games in 2021-22 and helped lead the Hurricanes to the quarterfinals of the Peach Belt Conference tournament. Kone averaged 25.2 minutes per game while shooting .548 from the field.

"Kevin is a tremendous addition to our program, both on and off the court," Drew said. "He has outstanding character and brings a high level of toughness and competitiveness to our program. His versatility offensively allows him to be able to finish inside, as well as being able to step away from the paint and affect the game with his perimeter skill set. Defensively, he can guard every position on the floor and has tremendous instincts. He will be an excellent representative of Lincoln University and our basketball program."

Kone played two seasons at Georgia Southwestern State, averaging 9.8 points and 6.6 boards per contest. The 6-9, 220-pound forward started his collegiate career at Vincennes University, where he appeared in 33 games while averaging 5.3 points and 4.8 rebounds in 2019-20 and helped the Trailblazers go 28-5 overall and 17-3 in conference play.
