ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Lincoln women's golf team moved up a spot to take 12th overall at the Holiday Inn Express Classic, hosted by Missouri Western State University at St. Joseph Country Club on Monday and Tuesday (March 28-29).

The Blue Tigers were in 13th following the first round, but moved into 12th after three golfers improved their scores between rounds. Marsya Nazri led Lincoln with a 170, as she tied for 30th overall after posting scores of 87 and 83. Maria Villamil, meanwhile, improved from a first round 89 to shoot an 86 on Tuesday for a final total of 175. Villamil tied for 48th on the individual leaderboard.

Saikati Gikonyo shot a 183, as she carded a 93 on Monday and a 90 on Tuesday. Nyah Singh recorded scores of 94 in each round to end the tournament with a total of 188. Elliott Hull closed out LU with a 199 after tallying sums of 97 and 102.

Lincoln will next play in the UMSL Spring Invitational, hosted by the University of Missouri-St. Louis at Norwood Hill Country Club in St. Louis, Mo. on April 10-11.
