HAYS, Kan. - Three members of the Lincoln men's basketball team scored in double figures as the Blue Tigers lost to Fort Hays State, 66-52, on Monday evening (Feb. 14).
Josh Wallace led LU with 14 points and grabbed two rebounds as well as blocking a shot.
Chuck Wilson finished with 12 points, four boards and a steal, and
Ni'Sean Rigmaiden contributed 10 points and team-highs in rebounds (six), assists (three) and steals (two).
Fort Hays State (19-4, 14-4 MIAA) led from start to finish, shooting .500 from the field and .412 from three-point range. Lincoln (2-20, 1-16 MIAA) shot .520 in the second half, but .400 overall for the game, including .182 from three-point range. FHSU held the edge in rebounding (31-28) and turnovers (10-13), but LU received 19 points from its bench and score 11 off turnovers.
Mekhi Kimble scored seven points to go with three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Derrick Woods collected three rebounds and chipped in four points, while
Alafia Oluwasogo had two boards and an assist.
Destan Williams provided three assists and a steal, and
Yaniel Vidal grabbed a rebound.
John Gaines made a free throw while
Arash Yaqubi and
Mark Boland each scored two points. Yaqubi pulled down three rebounds while Boland had one.
Lincoln and Fort Hays State will play a rematch in Jefferson City on Thursday (Feb. 17) at 7:30 p.m. CST.
