BENTONVILLE, Ark. - It was a one-run game heading into the fifth inning, but Drury pushed four runs across the plate to beat the Lincoln softball team, 5-0, in its season-opener on Saturday (Feb. 12).

Jordan Galliher notched her first strikeout as a Blue Tiger and allowed just one run through the first four innings of play, as Drury (3-3) used back-to-back doubles to take a 1-0 advantage in the bottom of the second. In the fifth inning, however, the Panthers hit a pair of homeruns and took advantage of an RBI double and a single to make it a five-run contest.

Lincoln was held to just two hits, as Ashton Stalling led the top of the third off with a single, and Qwynn Marquez had a base hit as a pinch hitter in the seventh. In the second frame, both Jordan Hollon and Alivia Rymer were issued walks. Chloe Olsen also reached base via a walk.

Olsen recorded a team-high eight putouts while Hollon, Katie Blair, Jacqueline Marquez and Leslie Callahan each were responsible for two. Hannah Clark struck out two Drury batters as the reliever, and Callahan led the LU defense with three assists.

The Blue Tigers will remain in Arkansas for three games on Sunday (Feb. 13), as LU plays Arkansas Tech at 11:00 a.m. CST before playing a double-header against Arkansas-Monticello at 1:00 p.m. CST.
