Hunter Ramirez fired a 76 in the final round of the Newman Invitational to lead the Lincoln men's golf team to a 15th-place finish on Tuesday (Oct. 18). The two-day, three-round tournament, which is the final tourney of the 2022 fall season for the Blue Tigers, was hosted by Newman University at Sand Creek Station Golf Course.
Ramirez improved his score in each of the three rounds. He opened the Newman Invitational with an 83, then shot a 79 in the second round. Ramirez ended the tournament with a 238 to tie for 56th overall.
Darshan Gunasegar totaled scores of 79, 81 and 82 to finish the three-round tourney with LU's second-lowest score of 242.
Austin Shoemaker finished one-shot back of Gunasegar with a 243, including scoring a team-low 78 in the opening round. Shoemaker closed the tournament with scores of 82 and 83.
Remon Rabie shot a 246, tallying round scores of 80, 85 and 81. Rounding out Lincoln was
Dedrick Harris II, who put together scores of 86, 83 and 82 for a final sum of 251.
