KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Ten members of the Lincoln softball team were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced on Monday (May 24). In addition, seniors Shannon Greene and Jordan Lawson have been named as recipients of the prestigious MIAA Academic Excellence Award.

Greene, from McLouth, Kan., and Lawson, from Iberia, Mo. are both accounting majors. This is the second year that Greene has earned the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, while Lawson is receiving the honor for the fourth time in her LU career.

Those two student-athletes joined eight of their teammates on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll: senior Kendra Holt; juniors Jordan Hollon and Alex Miller; sophomores Tressa Hughes and Bekah Kirker; and redshirt freshmen Hannah Clark, Ashton Stalling and Emily Williams. Holt is a business administration major from Kansas City, Mo., while Hollon (Unionville, Mo.) and is a biology major and Miller (Lexington, Mo.) is a marketing major.

Hughes (Dixon, Mo.) is an agriculture major, and Kirker (Salem, Mo.) is majoring in elementary education. Clark is a criminal justice major from Owensboro, Ky., and Stalling is a wellness major from Lafayette, Ga. Williams, from Quitman, Ark., is a nursing major.

To earn a spot on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have completed at least two full semesters at a member institution and own a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. To qualify for the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 and completed at least two semesters at a member institution.
