Simone Jordan scored 11 points and
Niyah Jackson added 10, but the Lincoln women's basketball team fell to Fort Hays State, 74-43, on Thursday (Feb. 18).
Jordan also supplied two rebounds, a block and an assist while Jackson finished with two boards and a pair of assists.
Vivian Chigbu had a team-high 10 rebounds and chipped in seven points.
Fort Hays State (17-2, 17-2 MIAA), ranked No. 8 in this week's Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II poll, led Lincoln (1-18, 1-18 MIAA) by 26 at halftime. LU scored 17 points in the third period, but just nine in a fourth quarter that was low-scoring for both programs. Lincoln shot .333 from three-point range while holding FHSU to just .227 from beyond the arc, but Fort Hays State shot .426 overall and .917 at the free throw line.
Ashtin Ingram recorded two more blocks and grabbed six rebounds, and
AJ Bradley totaled six points and six boards.
Aliyah Bello provided five points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal, while
Virja Lewis closed the scoring with four points and three boards.
Haylie Holloway had a rebound and a steal, and
Mya Milligan dished an assist.
Lincoln remains on the road on Saturday (Feb. 20) to play Nebraska Kearney in Kearney, Neb. at 2:00 p.m. CST.
