Blue Tigers Tame Bearcats for a 72-46 Win


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Four Blue Tigers scored in double figures, led by a 25-point night by AJ Bradley, as the Lincoln women's basketball team roared to a 72-46 victory over Northwest Missouri on Thursday evening (Jan. 28).

Bradley also had six rebounds, three assists and a steal for Lincoln (1-12, 1-12 MIAA), which out-scored Northwest Missouri (4-8, 4-8 MIAA), 48-25, in the second half. Simone Jordan tallied 12 points, six boards and a block, and Niyah Jackson provided 11 points, five rebounds and a team-high four assists. Aliyah Bello also finished in double figures, scoring 10 and grabbing four rebounds.

After going into halftime with a 24-21 advantage, Lincoln came out firing in the second half, shooting .471 from the field in the third quarter and .500 in the fourth. LU also shot .750 from three-point range over the final two periods, and went 31-for-38 (.816) at the line for the contest, including making 14 of its 15 attempts in the fourth quarter to ice the game. Bradley had a particularly strong night at the charity stripe, hitting on 13 of her 16 free throw attempts.

The Blue Tigers forced the Bearcats into 14 turnovers, resulting in 11 points, and held a commanding 51-34 advantage on the glass, including securing 15 offensive rebounds. Vivian Chigbu, who chipped in two points, led Lincoln with 12 rebounds. Ashtin Ingram, meanwhile, pulled down seven rebounds and had three blocks to go with seven points, an assist and a steal.

Haylie Holloway came off the bench to supply five points, three boards, an assist and a steal, and Virja Lewis had three rebounds.

Lincoln will close out a four-game homestand on Saturday (Jan. 30) as the Blue Tigers host Missouri Western at 1:00 p.m. CST.
