JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Five members of the Lincoln women's basketball team scored in double figures, but Missouri Western handed the Blue Tigers an 84-72 loss on Saturday (Jan. 30).
Aiyah Bello led the way with 15 points, and notched four rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Ashtin Ingram drained four treys on the day and finished with 14 points, five boards and two blocks.
Haylie Holloway, meanwhile, added 13 points and three steals to the Lincoln effort.
Also scoring in double figures for LU were
Niyah Jackson and
AJ Bradley, who each chipped in 12 points. Both players also pulled down five rebounds, dished four assists and recorded three steals.
Vivian Chigbu led LU with nine rebounds, and had two points to go with three assists and three steals.
Lincoln (1-13, 1-13 MIAA) had 13 steals on the afternoon and forced 27 turnovers, but shot .359 from the field and was out-rebounded 44-35. Missouri Western (3-8, 3-8 MIAA) shot .508 from the floor, meanwhile, and .783 from the free throw line. Lincoln scored 21 of its points off turnovers, but the Griffons scored 50 inside the paint.
Virja Lewis closed out Lincoln's scoring with four points, three boards and a block.
Kiara Cadore and
Simone Jordan also represented LU on the court on Saturday.
The Blue Tigers will head to Joplin, Mo on Thursday (Feb. 4) to play Missouri Southern at 5:30 p.m. CST.
