Bradley Scores 27 Against UCO


EDMOND, Okla. - AJ Bradley scored 27 points, but the Lincoln women's basketball team fell to Central Oklahoma, 93-71, on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 16).

Bradley shot .500 from the floor and made 10 of her 12 free throw attempts while grabbing six rebounds and tallying five steals. Niyah Jackson also reached double figures, scoring 10 points to go with five boards, dished two assists and notched a pair of steals. Lincoln came up with 15 steals on Saturday while forcing Central Oklahoma into 22 turnovers.

Lincoln (0-9, 0-9 MIAA) came back from a 10-point first quarter deficit to pull within 28-22 of Central Oklahoma (6-3, 6-3 MIAA) with 7:42 until halftime. After UCO built its lead back up to 11, Lincoln used a 6-0 run to make it a 37-32 affair with 3:56 until the break. The Bronchos ended the second period on a 6-1 run, however, to go into the intermission with a 43-33 advantage.

A three-pointer by Ashtin Ingram with 7:36 remaining in the third quarter brought LU back to within four, and the Blue Tigers kept the deficit within single digits for the next five minutes, but UCO used a 10-2 run to take a 12-point, 63-51 lead through three quarters. The fourth quarter belonged to the Bronchos, as they out-scored the Blue Tigers, 30-20 to hold on for the win.

Ingram and Aliyah Bello each scored nine points, with Ingram grabbing six rebounds and blocking three shots while Bello had three steals. Simone Jordan finished with eight rebounds and eight points, and Vivian Chigbu led Lincoln with nine rebounds while scoring four points. Haylie Holloway and Kiara Cadore rounded out Lincoln with two points apiece.

The Blue Tigers close a three-game road trip on Tuesday (Jan. 19) as the Blue Tigers play Washburn in Topeka, Kan. at 6:00 p.m. CST.
