Kaloni Pryear cleared the 20-point plateau for the fifth time in 2019-20, but the Lincoln women's basketball team dropped a road game to Missouri Western, 72-53, on Wednesday (Feb. 5).
Pryear led Lincoln with 22 points, dished three assists, pulled down three rebounds, registered two steals and blocked a shot, one of four rejections by the Blue Tigers on the evening.
Virja Lewis also had a block and led LU with six rebounds and scored 13 points
Vivian Chigbu had the other two blocks to go with seven points and two boards.
The Blue Tigers shot .418 from the field and .857 at the line, but were held to just one trey while the Griffons out-rebounded Lincoln (3-18, 0-12 MIAA), 42-27. Missouri Western (16-5, 8-4 MIAA) drained eight three-pointers on the evening, and forced Lincoln into 18 turnovers.
A big first quarter set the tone for the night, as the Griffons out-scored the Blue Tigers, 26-9. Lincoln rallied in the second half, out-scoring MWSU 33-28, as the Blue Tigers shot .483 from the field while holding the Griffons to .379 shooting.
Natasha Dolinsky added five points and two rebounds, and
Kiara Shoulders came off the bench to provide four points, three boards and two assists.
Anna Munoz Vidueira rounded out the scoring with two points, and
Alecia Gulledge had a steal and a rebound while
Nia McCaskill had two boards and a steal.
Natasha Elliott tallied a team-high three takeaways and dished an assist to go with two rebounds.
Lincoln will travel to Maryville, Mo. on Saturday (Feb. 8) to play Northwest Missouri at 1:30 p.m. CST.
