MARYVILLE, Mo. - Both teams played well defensively, but Northwest Missouri managed to pull out a 59-45 win over the Lincoln women's basketball team on Saturday (Feb. 8).
Lincoln (3-19, 0-13 MIAA) held the Bearcats to just .377 shooting from the floor and .320 from beyond the arc, but Northwest Missouri (11-11, 6-7 MIAA) limited the Blue Tigers to just 15 field goals overall and three from long range. LU held a 34-31 advantage on the glass, but committed 13 turnovers compared to six for NWMSU.
Alecia Gulledge had eight points and a team-high nine rebounds for Lincoln while
Natasha Dolinsky and
Vivian Chigbu each scored 12 points. Dolinsky additionally had a steal and team-best three assists, and Chigbu provided six boards and a block.
Kaloni Pryear, meanwhile, added five points, five boards and an assist.
Natasha Elliott registered a steal and an assist while chipping in four points and matching Chigbu with six rebounds.
Kiara Shoulders and
Virja Lewis each tallied two points, with Shoulders additionally contributing three boards and a steal.
Vedrana Radosavljevic also represented Lincoln with a rebound.
The Blue Tigers will begin their final homestand of 2019-20 on Thursday (Feb. 13) when Lincoln welcomes Nebraska Kearney for a 5:30 p.m. CST contest.
