THE LEAD OFF:Â The undefeated Lincoln softball team puts its perfect record on the line this weekend with four games at the Drury Invitational. The Blue Tigers take on the host school, Drury, on Friday (Feb. 28) at 2:00 p.m. CST in LU's first game away from home in 2020. Later that day, Lincoln will play William Jewell at 4:00 p.m. CST, before going head-to-head with Newman in a non-MIAA match-up on Saturday (Feb. 29) at 12:00 p.m. CST. The Blue Tigers close play in the Drury Invitational with a 2:00 p.m. CST contest against Southwest Baptist after the game vs. Newman. This will be the only meeting of the season between Lincoln and Drury, and the first of three games this year between LU and Newman, which is in its first season as an associate member of the MIAA. These will be the first of five games vs. both Southwest Baptist and William Jewell, as Lincoln plays home-and-homes with both teams later in the year.
Â
PREVIEWING THE BLUE TIGERS:Â Lincoln owns a team ERA of 0.33, as both
Tressa Hughes (11 strikeouts) and
Hannah Clark have collected wins without allowing any earned runs. Twelve LU players are batting .364 or better, with

Emily Williams (seven hits) &
Kendra Holt (seven RBI) leading the way.
HEAD COACH CHRISTINE CORE:Â Now in her second year as the coach of the Blue Tigers, Core helped Lincoln improve in nearly every offensive category in 2019. Two LU players earned All-MIAA honors under her direction. She took over the Lincoln program after a successful two-year run at Covenant, where she won 45 games.
Â
LAST TIME OUT:Â Lincoln hosted Lane for two games on Feb. 21. Below are brief recaps of those contests:
Â
Game 3: LU 9, LC 1: Â

Alex Miller, who hit a homerun, each tallying two RBI.
Â
Game 4: LU 10, LC 1: Â Lincoln had eight hits and took advantage of four Lane errors two sweep the double-header on Feb. 21.
