WARRENSBURG, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team dropped a 74-45 decision to Central Missouri on Tuesday night (Feb. 18).
Central Missouri, which entered the week ranked No. 20 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's Division II poll, opened the game on a 10-0 run and held LU to 18 points in the first half. The Blue Tigers responded well defensively, giving up just six field goals in the third quarter while limiting the Jennies to .278 shooting in the final period.
Natasha Elliott was the leading scorer for Lincoln (3-22, 0-16 MIAA), finishing with 14 points, four rebounds and two steals.
Kaloni Pryear tallied 12 points and four assists while ending the night with three steals and four boards.
Anna Munoz Vidueira had a pair of blocks, grabbed four rebounds and chipped in two points.
Lincoln forced Central Missouri (21-4, 15-1 MIAA) into 15 turnovers, and scored 24 of its points in the paint and five on second chances.
Nia McCaskill was the top rebounder for LU, ending the night with five while dishing two assists and forcing two steals.
Natasha Dolinsky added seven points to the Blue Tiger effort, and
Virja Lewis and
Vedrana Radosavljevic finished with four points apiece.
Alecia Gulledge led the LU defense with four steals and recorded three rebounds, two points and a pair of assists.
Vivian Chigbu had a rebound, and
Kiara Shoulders provided a rebound and an assist.
Lincoln will be back on the road on Saturday (Feb. 22), traveling to Topeka, Kan. to play Washburn at 1:00 p.m. CST.
