Niyah Jackson and
Vivian Chigbu combined to score 30 points, but the Lincoln women's basketball team fell to Northwest Missouri, 85-55, on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 5).
Niyah Jackson finished with five rebounds, an assist and a steal, while Chigbu had nine boards and an assistant as Lincoln posted a 36-34 advantage on the glass. That includes a 13-5 edge in offensive rebounding, resulting in 11 second chance points for the Blue Tigers.
Northwest Missouri (2-2, 2-2 MIAA) shot .569 from the field and .579 from three-point range while holding Lincoln (0-3, 0-3 MIAA) to .345 shooting overall. A big first half made the difference, as NWMSU led 15-9 after the first period and 42-19 at halftime.Â
AJ Bradley also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points and grabbing three rebounds while leading LU with three assists.
Aliyah Bello, who grabbed three boards, matched
Kiara Cadore and
Deija Jackson with four points apiece. Cadore, meanwhile, had five rebounds while
Ashtin Ingram tallied three boards, an assist and a block.
Haylie Holloway had a steal, and
Joseline Ramos closed the scoring with three points.
Lincoln will return home on Thursday (Dec. 10) to host Pittsburg State at 5:30 p.m. CST.
