JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Washburn hit six treys in the first quarter en route to a 66-49 victory over the Lincoln women's basketball team in Jason Gym on Wednesday night (Jan. 29).
The Ichabods made 11 three-pointers on .355 shooting while going 22-for-57 (.386) from the floor for the game. The score was 24-11 in Washburn's favor after the first period, which ended up being the main difference in the game. Lincoln out-scored Washburn in the second quarter, and WU held advantages of just two points and four points in the third and fourth periods, respectively.
Lincoln (3-16, 0-10 MIAA) pulled down 34 rebounds, including 10 by
Virja Lewis, who also chipped in six points.
Alecia Gulledge grabbed seven rebounds, scored five points and dished two assists, and
Vivian Chigbu, who finished with six points and two boards, had a team-high six steals, as well as a block and an assist.
The Blue Tigers forced Washburn (11-8, 5-5 MIAA) into 19 turnovers, with
Kaloni Pryear coming away with two steals. Pryear led LU offensively with 17 points, and had two rebounds as well as a block and an assist.
Natasha Elliott was next in the scoring list with eight points and four rebounds, and
Natasha Dolinsky added five points, three boards and a team-high three assists.
Kiara Shoulders rounded out LU with two points, three rebounds and a block, and Vedrana Radosaljevic also had a rebound.
