ENID, Okla. - Samantha Van Dort shot a second-round 76 to win the Ranger Fall Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 17). The Lincoln women's golf team was the runner-up of the two-day tournament, hosted at Meadowlake Golf Course by Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

Van Dort shot an 87 on Monday (Sept. 16) for a final score of 163 to win the individual championship by 10 strokes over NWOSU's Samantha Friday and Ashley Watts, who tied for second at 173. Van Dort is the first member of the LU women's golf team to win a tournament since Kaitlyn Schwartze won the Park Fall Invitational in 2012.

Two other Blue Tigers finished among the top-10, including Lexi Waters, who came in fourth after shooting a two-round 179. Waters fired an 89 in the first round and a 90 in the second. Madison Oliver, meanwhile, tied for eighth after carding a 187 with scores of 92 and 95.

Closing out the Blue Tigers was Emalee Bennett, who shot a 232 to place 15th overall. Bennett improved 24 strokes from her first-round total of 128 by shooting a 104 on Tuesday.

Lincoln posted a team score of 761 to place second at the tournament, the highest finish for the Blue Tiger women's golf team since taking second at the William Woods Invitational in September 2011. Northwestern Oklahoma State won the Ranger Fall Invitational with a team score of 718 while Oklahoma Panhandle State rounded out the top-three with a team score of 765.

Up next for the Blue Tigers is the Crossroads of America Invitational, which will be held in Wentzville, Mo. at the Golf Club of Wentzville on Sept. 23-24.
