KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Terrance Smith was named to the All-MIAA second team while Jonell Burton, Grant Olsson and Amariontez Ivory each received honorable mention accolades as the league announced its 2019 MIAA Men's Basketball Team on Tuesday (March 5). Burton, additionally, was named to the MIAA All-Defensive Team.

Smith, an All-MIAA third team honoree in 2018, led Lincoln in scoring (16.5 ppg.), rebounding (6.8 rpg.) and field goal percentage (.550). Smith, who finished seventh in the league in rebounding and third in field goal percentage, had five double-doubles on the season, including scoring 35 points and grabbing 14 boards in Lincoln's win over No. 20 Missouri Southern. The MIAA Athlete of the Week after that performance, Smith, a senior, finished the regular season shooting .448 from three-point range and .760 at the line.

Burton, who had 28 blocks and 20 steals, becomes the first Blue Tiger ever named to the MIAA All-Defensive Team. Burton averaged 13.4 points and 5.3 rebounds for the season and finished 10th in the conference in free throw percentage (.823). The junior scored in double figures in each of Lincoln's first seven games and, out of 28 games, scored fewer than 10 points in only five contests.

Olsson earns his second award of the season, as the senior was also selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District first team. Olsson averaged 10.6 points and 4.1 rebounds, shooting .538 from the floor and .711 at the line. Olsson also tallied 23 assists, 10 steals and six blocks.

Ivory, who also was selected as an All-MIAA honorable mention a year ago, led the conference and finished 13th in NCAA Division II in three-point field goal percentage (.459) after making 84 treys on the year. The senior averaged 13.5 points per game and was 43rd in the nation in three-point field goals made per game and 44th nationally in total three points field goals made.

The Blue Tigers finished the 2018-19 season 17-11 overall and 10-9 in MIAA play, and will open the postseason in the MIAA Men's Basketball Championship quarterfinals on Friday (March 8) when LU plays Fort Hays State in Kansas City, Mo. at 12:00 p.m. CST.
