JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Three Blue Tigers scored in double figures and the Lincoln women's basketball team earned its 10th win of the season with a 64-51 victory over Northwest Missouri on Saturday (Feb. 9).
Zhanesha Dickerson tallied her eighth double-double of the season, finishing with 25 points and 11 rebounds, and
Zoi Thompson and
Bre Coleman each finished with 13 points and six rebounds. Thompson also dished seven assists and notched three steals while Coleman had a pair of takeaways.
Lincoln (10-12, 2-11 MIAA) out-scored Northwest Missouri (7-15, 3-10 MIAA), 17-12, in both the first and second quarters for a 10-point halftime lead. LU, which shot .636 from the floor in the second quarter, ended the day with a .463 percentage overall and a .455 accuracy rate from long range.
The Blue Tigers out-rebounded Northwest Missouri, 33-26, and scored 14 second chance points while allowing none to the Bearcats. LU also forced NWMSU into 20 turnovers, scoring 20 points off those takeaways, and had an advantage of 38-24 inside the paint.
Alecia Gulledge had seven points and six boards for the Blue Tigers while
Tempary Gunter scored three points and
Kaloni Pryear tallied two assists, a steal, a rebound and a free throw.
Kiara Shoulders rounded out the Blue Tigers with two points, two boards, a block and a steal.
Lincoln will begin its final road trip of 2018-19 on Thursday night (Feb. 14) when the Blue Tigers play at Nebraska Kearney at 5:30 p.m. CST.
