HAYS, Kan. - Four members of the Lincoln women's basketball team scored in double figures, but the Blue Tigers fell to Fort Hays State, 73-59, on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 16).
Fort Hays State (23-1, 14-1 MIAA) entered the game ranked No. 4 in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II poll, and led for nearly the entire game, out-scoring LU 42-28 in the first half.
Lincoln (10-14, 2-13 MIAA) shot the ball better than FHSU, as LU made 41-percent of its shots compared to a .397 accuracy rate for FHSU. Fort Hays State held just a 42-39 advantage in rebounding, and Lincoln forced its opponent into nine turnovers.
Zhanesha Dickerson recorded her ninth double-double of 2018-19, scoring 15 points and grabbing 13 rebounds to go with a pair of blocks and two steals.
Kiara Shoulders pulled down 10 rebounds and chipped in two points, and
Alecia Gulledge finished with seven points, seven boards, and two assists.
Kaloni Pryear had LU's second-highest point total of 13, and
Zoi Thompson dished two assists while scoring 12 points.
Bre Coleman also reached double figures, scoring 10 points and grabbing three rebounds to go with a blocked shot.
Lincoln will begin a four-game homestand to conclude the season on Tuesday (Feb. 19) as the Blue Tigers host Lindenwood at 5:30 p.m. CST.
