Blue Tigers Earn 84-45 Home Win Over Hannibal-LaGrange


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team rebounded well and had its best shooting night of the season as the Blue Tigers beat Hannibal-LaGrange, 84-45, in Jason Gym on Saturday (Dec. 14).

Lincoln out-rebounded Hannibal-LaGrange, 46-24, with Kiara Shoulders and Alecia Gulledge each grabbing seven. Shoulders also scored 10 points while Gulledge chipped in six to go with four assists and three steals.

The Blue Tigers shot .714 from the field in the third quarter and .688 in the fourth to finish 37-68 from the floor (.544) for the contest. Lincoln limited Hannibal-LaGrange to .310 shooting overall and .125 shooting from beyond the arc. Vivian Chigbu was a team-best 6-for-9 from the game, ending the day with 12 points, two boards and a pair of steals.

After finishing the first period with a 15-11 advantage, Lincoln (2-8) scored 23 points in the second, third and fourth quarters to roll to the 39-point victory. Hannibal-LaGrange (2-7) turned the ball over 24 times, leading to 14 Blue Tiger steals, including three by Nia McCaskill, who also tallied four points and five rebounds.

Virja Lewis led the Lincoln offense with 14 points and grabbed six rebounds while Kaloni Pryear added 12 points and five rebounds. Kyessence Collins, making her 2019-20 debut, filled up the stat sheet with nine points, five boards, five assists, two steals and a block. Natasha Dolinsky also scored nine points and finished with three rebounds, a steal and an assist.

All 10 Blue Tigers who appeared on the court scored at least four points, including Natasha Elliott, who additionally pulled down five rebounds. Vedrana Radosavljevic chipped in four points and had a steal.

Lincoln will close out the month of December at home next Thursday (Dec. 19) when the Blue Tigers host Eureka at 1:00 p.m. CST.
