JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -
Vivian Chigbu had another double-double and four other Blue Tigers scored in double figures as the Lincoln women's basketball team defeated MacMurray, 93-37, for its first win of 2019-20 on Wednesday evening (Nov. 20).
Lincoln held a commanding advantage of 61-33 on rebounds, and shot .468 for the game while holding the Highlanders to just 10 buckets in 52 attempts (.192). Chigbu ended the night with 10 of those boards as well as a team-high 27 points, five assists, three steals and a block.
Natasha Dolinsky came close to a double-double herself, tallying 12 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and seven steals.
Natasha Elliott scored 21 points to go with five rebounds, two steals, two assists and a block.
Alecia Gulledge, meanwhile, ended the day with 12 points, eight rebounds and three steals.
Lincoln scored 35 points off of turnovers, recording 15 steals and forcing 25 total takeaways. The Blue Tigers also held MacMurray to .200 shooting from long distance and pulled down 24 offensive rebounds, turning those boards into 15 second chance points.
Kiara Shoulders led Lincoln with 11 rebounds and notched four assists and five points. Anna Munoz Vidueire rounded out LU's double-digit scorers with 10 points, six boards and a block, and
Vedrana Radosavljevic provided two points, an assist and five rebounds to the winning cause.
Nia McCaskill and
Virja Lewis each chipped in two points, with McCaskill also dishing four assists.
The Blue Tigers will be back in action on Sunday (Nov. 24), traveling to Liberty, Mo. to play William Jewell at 1:00 p.m. CST.
