Blue Tigers Fall in Penultimate Games of 2018


JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The Lincoln softball dropped a pair of games to Central Missouri on the next-to-last day of the season on Friday (April 20). The Jennies won both contests in six innings, and the final score of both games was 9-0.

Central Missouri (29-19, 18-6 MIAA) racked up nine hits in each game and took advantage of three total LU errors to sweep the double-header. Lincoln (5-41, 0-24 MIAA) was held to four hits, which were accounted for by Tori Nienhueser, Rachael Balke, Camryn Pryor and Chelsey Kerr.

Madison Ragar led the Blue Tigers with nine putouts in the second game, and started the first contest in the circle, notching a strikeout. Pryor had a team-high six putouts in the opener, and Jordan Lawson and Kiley Kerr finished the twinbill with four total putouts apiece.

Alyssa Schulte added five assists in the night cap, and Nienhueser and Mykenzie Livesay had three assists apiece in the first game.

Lincoln closes its 2018 campaign on Saturday (April 21) with a 1:00 p.m. CDT double-header vs. Southwest Baptist. Prior to the game, a Senior Day ceremony will be held to recognize Lincoln's two graduating players, Madison Ragar and Kiley Kerr. The ceremony will begin at approximately 12:45 p.m. CDT.
