Faith Brintle scored 17 points and
Bre Coleman and
Charnai Anderson combined for 22, but the Lincoln women's basketball team fell to Lindenwood, 83-73, in its final road game of 2017-18 on Saturday (Feb. 10).
Brintle shot 6-for-8 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from three-point range, and Coleman and Anderson finished with 11 points apiece. Coleman led the Blue Tigers with eight rebounds and a pair of blocks while
Citlali Lopez added eight points, two steals and four assists.
Lincoln (3-20, 0-15 MIAA) held Lindenwood (13-11, 5-10 MIAA) to 30-percent shooting in the first half as the Blue Tigers took a 31-28 lead into halftime. LU out-scored the Lady Lions, 22-18, in the second quarter and led for the final 7:33 of the opening half.
Lindenwood opened the third quarter on an 8-2 run and took a 48-38 advantage with 3:39 remaining in the period. Lincoln shot .467 in the second half, but was out-rebounded, 20-10, by a Lady Lion squad that shot .567 overall and .571 from beyond the arc.
Alecia Kaelke came off the bench to provide nine points,
Lajanea Kimbrough scored six and
Tempary Gunter and
Davenport Brantley finish with four points apiece.
Tyler Brown-Henderson closed the scoring with three points and contributed five rebounds as well as three assists.
The Blue Tigers will open a four-game homestand on Tuesday (Feb. 13) when Lincoln hosts a rematch with Lindenwood at 5:30 p.m. CST.
