Amariontez Ivory scored 20 points as the Lincoln men's basketball team rallied from a halftime deficit to beat Lindenwood, 67-64, on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 10).
Ivory additionally grabbed four rebounds, dished two assists and tallied a pair of steals as Lincoln (13-11, 7-8 MIAA) won for the fifth time in its past six games.
John Burton finished with 12 points, five boards, two dimes and a pair of steals while
Terrance Smith grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds to go with seven points and three blocks.
Lincoln led for much of the first half, but an 11-0 run late in the period gave Lindenwood (14-10, 6-9 MIAA) a 34-29 lead at the break. The Blue Tigers tightened up defensively in the second half, holding the Lions to just 30-percent shooting while Lincoln shot .481.
The Blue Tigers committed just four turnovers in the contest while forcing Lindenwood into 10, and shot .431 for the game while the Lions were .388 from the floor. Ivory scored the first three points of the second half, spring Lincoln onto a 15-2 run to re-take the lead, and scored the last two points of the contest on a pair of free throws that kept the Blue Tiger lead at three.
Maurice Mason contributed nine points, two boards, two assists and two steals, and
Alexander Nailes dropped three dimes while
Grant Olsson provided eight points.
Marquise Williams had four points and six rebounds as well as an assist, and
Darrius Spencer had the victory-sealing steal at the end of the regulation.
Calvin Chambers closed out the scoring with seven points.
The Blue Tigers closed their 2017-18 road slate with Saturday's win, and will now be at home for the final four contests of the regular season. That begins on Tuesday (Feb. 13), when Lincoln plays a rematch against Lindenwood in Jason Gym at 7:30 p.m. CST.
