Terrance Smith scored 16 and
Marquise Williams posted a double-double, but the Lincoln men's basketball team fell on the road to the No. 6 team in the country on Thursday (Feb. 1). Northwest Missouri, ranked No. 6 in the NABC Division II poll, shot .483 from the floor en route to a 76-43 victory over the Blue Tigers.
Williams doubled up for the sixth time in 2017-18, scoring 13 points to go with 10 rebounds and an assist.
Maurice Mason dished five assists to go with six points, five boards and a steal, and
Calvin Chambers tallied four points, three dimes and a pair of takeaways.
Lincoln (11-11, 5-8 MIAA) held Northwest Missouri (18-2, 10-2 MIAA) to .343 shooting from long distance, but the Bearcats made 12 treys and were a perfect 8-for-8 at the free throw line. Northwest Missouri also forced LU into 14 turnovers, scoring 19 points off those takeaways.
Grant Olsson and
Alexander Nailes each had three rebounds while
Amariontez Ivory had one to go with an assist.
Paris Parham contributed three points, a rebound and a steal, and
Darrius Spencer rounded out the scoring with a free throw.
The Blue Tigers will remain on the road on Saturday (Feb. 3) to play Missouri Western in St. Joseph, Mo. at 4:00 p.m. CST.
