FAYETTE, Iowa -
Bre Coleman scored 19 points while
Tempary Gunter and
Alecia Kaelke each chipped in 14 as the Lincoln women's basketball team defeated Upper Iowa, 73-48, on Tuesday night (Dec. 18).
The win improved Lincoln to 8-2 on the season while Upper Iowa fell to 3-10.
Coleman also supplied four rebounds while Gunter had a steal to go with three assists. Kaelke pulled down seven boards, and
Zoi Thompson dished seven assists to go with eight points and four steals.
Lincoln jumped out to a 23-11 lead at the end of the first period, and held the Peacocks to just eight points in the second quarter to take a 39-19 advantage into halftime. The Blue Tigers, who shot .492 for the contest, shot .500 from the floor in the second half to earn the 25-point victory.
Alecia Gulledge finished one point shy of a double-double, tallying nine points and 10 boards, and
Kaloni Pryear added six points and five assists to the winning cause.
Shannyn Triplett contributed two points while
Zhanesha Dickerson made a free throw and secured six rebounds while notching three steals.
Kiara Shoulders rounded out LU with four boards and three assists.
The Blue Tigers will be off until Sunday, Dec. 30, when Lincoln hosts the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in Jason Gym at 4:00 p.m. CST.
