JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - Missouri Southern made 14 shots from three-point land and forced the Lincoln men's basketball team into 15 turnovers en route to a 92-70 victory on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 13).
Lincoln (8-9, 2-6 MIAA) shot .400 overall and .444 from three point range, held a 41-36 advantage in rebounding and had four players score in double figures, but could only force six turnovers as Missouri Southern (11-6, 6-2 MIAA) controlled the pace of play. The Lions shot .446 from the floor and .424 from three-point range, and made 20 free throws to hand LU its first home loss of 2018.
Terrance Smith and Maurice Mason finished with 14 points and five rebounds apiece, with Smith blocking a shot and Mason tallying six assists. Amariontez Ivory notched 12 points and five boards, and John Burton rounded out LU's double-digit scorers with 12 points, two rebounds and an assist.
Calvin Chambers finished with a team-high eight rebounds to go with six points and four assists, and Marquise Williams finished with five points and five boards.
Alexander Nailes made a three-pointer, and Donte Makazu and Destiny Chikwem-Stanley completed the scoring with two points and two rebounds each. Grant Olsson, Paris Parham and
Darrius Spencer each had a rebound, and Olsson also supplied an assist.
The Blue Tigers will travel to Warrensburg, Mo. next Thursday (Jan. 18) to play Central Missouri at 7:30 p.m. CST.
