ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Missouri-St. Louis took advantage of a strong first half and rode the momentum to a 68-47 win over the Lincoln women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 25).
Bre Coleman had a double-double, finishing with 10 points and 11 rebounds to go with three blocks. Citlali Lopez led the Blue Tigers with 15 points and secured seven rebounds while Lajanea Kimbrough was next with seven points.
Missouri-St. Louis (3-1) out-scored Lincoln (2-4) 18-9 in the opening quarter and took a 32-19 lead into halftime. The Blue Tigers out-rebounded UMSL, 43-36, and forced 12 takeaways, but the Tritons shot .611 from long distance to stave off any LU comeback plans.
Faith Brintle added six points and
Naomi Bryant chipped in three while Kailey Foster tallied two points, three boards and a pair of steals. Alecia Kaelke and
Tempary Gunter each added two points to the LU cause, with Kaelke additionally grabbing four rebounds. Karissa Black and Tyler Brown-Henderson finished with two rebounds apiece.
The Blue Tigers will return home on Monday (Nov. 27) to host Upper Iowa in a 5:30 p.m. CST contest.
