ST. CHARLES, Mo. - The Lincoln women's basketball team forced 24 turnovers and recorded 13 steals en route to a 62-57 win over Southern Arkansas on Saturday morning (Nov. 11).
Citlali Lopez scored 15 points and dished five assists while recording three takeaways to lead the Blue Tigers. Lajanea Kimbrough added 12 points three assists and a team-high four steals. Kailey Foster and Charnai Anderson tallied two steals apiece.
Lincoln (1-1) trailed 29-18 at halftime, but used a big fourth quarter to secure its first win of the season. The Blue Tigers out-scored Southern Arkansas (0-2), 25-12, in the final stanza, and shot .571 from the floor in the second half.
Bre Coleman came very close to a double, finishing with eight points and 10 boards. Karissa Black contributed nine points and six rebounds, and Anderson and Faith Brintle each scored six. Foster chipped in four points to go with five boards, and
Naomi Bryant closed out the scoring with three points.
Robin Butler added two rebounds to the Blue Tiger cause while Alecia Kaelke had one rebound. Kimbrough additionally had a block.
Lincoln will play at home for the first time in 2017-18 on Tuesday (Nov. 14), as the Blue Tigers host Missouri S&T for a 5:30 p.m. CST contest.
