ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - Jackson Walker had a pair of hits and Dillon Walker scored on a double, but the Lincoln baseball team fell to Missouri Western, 9-1, on Friday night (May 6).

Mason Price supplied the double that brought in Dillon Walker, who initially got on board via a walk. That run came in the top of the sixth and the cut the Griffon lead down to 5-1, but Missouri Western (33-16, 25-14 MIAA) pulled away late with four runs in the eighth inning. Those scores ended a streak of four shutout innings by the Blue Tiger defense.

Lincoln (1-48, 0-38 MIAA) finished with six hits on the evening, including one each by Dillon Walker, Mike Million and Kolton Clark. The Blue Tigers had opportunities to put some more runs on the board, including in the ninth, when Jackson's Walker's second hit moved Alex Ludwick to third. In the end, however, LU stranded seven runners.

Zach Maskill struck out two batters on the mound, and Jackson Walker and Nick Lovell each contributed a pair of assists. Million led the defense with six putouts while Dillon Walker, Kaleb Davis, Jackson Walker, Jake Walker and Price each tallied three apiece.

The Blue Tigers will close their 2016 campaign on Saturday (May 7) with one final 7:00 p.m. CDT contest against Missouri Western.
